Description
This hand-forged iron torque is based on archaeological finds from the classical and medieval eras.
The torque was a widely used type of jewelry, mainly worn around the neck. During the antiquity it was already used by most of the Central-European tribes. Until the Migration period both Germanic men and women wore neck torques. Later, during the Viking period, the neck torque became more of a masculine piece of jewelry.
The Viking iron torque is suitable for neck circumferences up to 54 cm. It has a diameter of ca. 16 – 20 cm, weighs 95 gr, and is hand-forged from iron.
