This chain divider is a replica from archaeological finds from Latvia from the Viking period.
Chain dividers were an important piece of jewelry for female garments in Viking society. The dividers were worn in pairs on the dress, with one or more chains between them. These chains were decorated with all sorts of trinkets, jewelry, and even small household items. One could also wear a turtle brooch above the chain divider.
