This trefoil brooch is a reproduction of a 10th century CE archaeological find from Tranby, Norway. The brooch has characteristics of both the Jelling- and the Borre-style. Trefoil brooches were traditionally worn in the middle of women’s dresses, often in combination with two oval tortoise brooches, but they were also used to close cloaks.
The trefoil brooch measures 5.2 x 5.2 cm. It is available in bronze, as well as a silver-plated version.
