This brass sewing needle is handmade after historical examples from the Medieval era. Brass and bronze needles were already in use by early Celtic civilization and were widely used in from the Germanic and Viking era until even after the late Medieval period. Brass needles – in contrast to bone needles – were specifically used to sew finer fabrics.
Brass needles were a valuable possession, and were therefore often stored in needlecases/boxes, so the owner would not lose them.
The length of this needle is 5 cm and the eye is ca. 1 mm wide.

The needles are really beautiful, so sharp I can even use them to sew linen
