This beautiful medieval replica brooch is modelled after the brooch that is depicted on the statue of the wife of a German margrave (a medieval sovereign), found in the cathedral of Naumburg. Although the depicted woman lived in the 11th century, the statue dates back to the 13th century, which confirms that this brooch was at least existent in the 13th century. This brooch is intricately decorated and well fit for a rich medieval person. Because of the size of the brooch, it is likely that it was used to fasten large garments, it can be fastened by a pin on the backside.
The Annular brooch – Uta measures 7.3 x 7.3 cm and is available in a pure bronze option, as well as a silver-plated version.
